Fall Packism: Nike Air Force 1 Premium GS - "Red Nikebook"

As we continue on with the back-to-school inspired sneakers, Nike updates a classic element on a timeless model. The composition notebook theme was a major hit for Nike's back to school inspired pack last year, and that concept is updated this year on a timeless model. This Air Force 1 GS is decked out entirely of red composition notebook design, complete with the "loose leaf" paper lines on the side panels and a "nikebook" graphic on the heel. How neat!

HiStory in the Making

Here we have some additional finished pics of the MJ "Legend" Tribute Tee, created by my homie Sergio Scott. I just got my tee over the weekend, and please believe it is one of the best out there, and definitely is a head turner. Kicks: Reebok Top Down "Basquiat" Pack - Fall 2009

Coming this fall is a new set of Basquiat artistry inspired Reebok sneakers - this time in the form of the "Top Down" Model. The sketchy artwork covers most of the teal and white uppers for both pairs and really gives these kicks a world class feel. SBeezies: July Nike SB Quickstrikes Available Now

Hiya folks! Two brand new SB quickstrikes have hit the shelves at most skateshops with SB accounts. The two kicks you see above are probably some of the iller product we've seen in a while, and I am loving both pairs. The SB Blazer features a mild white upper with a hot red swoosh and gum midsole. The upper heel tabs say the words "Swoosh Life" across both shoes. The SB dunk low comes in a varsity blue and ice pink colorway with an additional set of ice pink laces :).

Both pairs are available here in Chicago at Uprise - but be sure to check your local spots in the coming days as well.

For what seems like an eternity of waiting, Chicago will finally be recognized in the league of sneaker greatness with the arrival of the first ever Nike Sportswear store in the Midwest - Akin Chicago. Located in UIC's University Village, the newest sneaker and streetwear boutique has already garnered a buzz in the city amongst heads and non-heads alike. The Grand Opening is very much anticipated and is sure to be a live event - including a fashion show and a raffle giveaway of the first Air Jordan DMP. Not to mention the latest offerings of clothes and kicks the Nike camp has to offer along with food, drinks, and music. Sweeeeeeeeeeet!!!

Fall Packism: Back to School Pack Nike Dunk High GS -Crayola Crayon Box

What just might be the best of the back to school pack is a GS Nike Dunk High sporting a "Crayola Crayon Box" color scheme of hunter green and varsity maize.  If the colorway alone doesn't ring bells of the school yard, the Nike schoolhouse on the tongue tag definitely will! Fall Packism: Back to School Pack Nike Blazer High GS - "Scantron"

Gosh! Any one growing up in the 90s here in Chicago def remembers the CAT test given every school year - BOY did I NOT look forward to those GE tests.  This year as part of an epic GS Back to School Pack, the Swoosh puts a cool spin on a not so fun test.  The Blazer High you see above is emblazoned with the Scantron graphics with red laces to add a nice element of color. Fall Packism: Back to School Pack Nike Dunk High GS - Navy/Blue - Orange

It seems as though back to school themed kicks drop in July, which has to be a brutal reminder of what's to come for all the kiddies just starting to enjoy their summer vacation.  Well a lesson for all young sneaker heads is that there is no such thing as "starting too soon" when it comes to kicks.  This particular pair is inspired by a few elementary concepts - sports, science, and arithmetic. The side panels are embossed with graphics of numbers, letters, and kooky outer space creatures. A primarily navy blue upper with contrast stitching in white and orange colors (totally reps for our Chicago Bears!) is a great look for fall - and i'm sure there are some small footed ladies that'll go for em, including myself! Kicks: Nike WMS Vandal High - Heather Grey/Black - White

For all the Vandal fiends out there, this one is totally for you. Coming in on a nearly collegiate vibe (IMO), this Vandal model features a cool heather grey cloth upper - similar to that off sweatpants - and black trim. Interchangable signature straps in purple and red add just the right amount of color to these. I, am loving it.

SBeezies: July's Nike SB Dunk Mid - "Northern Lights"

Since this month's SB releases have been less than enthusing, we're are somewhat happy to see a new sneak on the horizon for July's package. The Nike SB Dunk Mid comes in a Sea Green and Black colorway with a shot of blue on the swoosh - swanky? Ah, you be the judge. Anyhoo, these are available now at Premier.

What's New: Nike Women's Air Royalty Hi - Two Colorways

There's nothing better than coming across a brand new sneaker from the Swoosh - especially when it is executed properly and is made specifically for the ladies. The new Air Royalty model looks as if it is a giant mash - up of a few other classic Nike models - including the dunk, blazer, and terminator. Of course, this is pure assumption on my part so don't go around willy nilly saying these are facts. Just an observation! Anyhoo, as you can see these two models are uber slick and the colorways are unbeatable - black/white - sport red & white and metallic gold. Me Likey. So far, I've only seen these available for purchase on the Caliroots site, which leads me to believe they may not hit the states officially for a few more months - bummer. You might remember seeing our "Could It Be (GS)" post about these a lil while back - and i think someone out there in Jordan land may have read and heard our pleas! One of my favorite Jordan colorways and models (and yours too hopefully) will, indeed, be releasing sooner than initially expected, the now official date being November 27, 2009 - clearly, a black friday release. But even MORE important than knowing when they drop is knowing that they will IN FACT be available in a full size run - which includes crib, toddler, pre-school, AND gradeschool sizes. YIPP-to tha- EE!

The only bit of news that seems a lil flaky is that these are set to be a limited QS - i'm assuming that's just in men's sizes - couldn't possibly imagine them setting up crib size shoes as a QS - but who knows? Time will definitely tell!

Kicks: Adidas Originals Forum - "Color Pop" Pack Fall 2009

Hello and Happy Monday to you all, hope everyone had a great weekend!

Today we are taking a look at the return of a beloved Adidas model - the Forum. Set to come in an eye-catching pack this Fall, a high and low version of the Forum will be featuring this Fall in the "Color Pop" collection. Both sport neon colored accents while solid colored uppers serve as a clean background. Look for these to start hitting shelves in the coming months.

And They Say Chi-City: St. Alfred Presents - Gatorade x Michael Jordan "23 Then. Now. Forever"

The phrase "oh hell yes" comes to mind when I think of two of my most favorite things in life - Jordan sneakers and Gatorade (oh yeah, ya girl gets busy with the "blue" and "red" joints - no actual names necessary). Its only right that after years of support the Gatorade brand sets up an ill contest with the help of the St. Alfred fam to select 100 lucky people to view a super low - key commercial shoot for Gatorade here in the Chi. Annnnd there's more! It all takes place Tomorrow, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th at St. Alfreds. But enough of my babbling - check out the poster below for ALL the amazing details.

Be it low, mid, or high, the Air Force 1 model was more than instrumental in getting me engulfed in the sneaker game. It is no surprise that I am in totally love with the above pictured women's AF1 high. What a subtle but snazzy design pattern - soft white upper with polka dots surrounding the entire upper AND midsole. I totally dig.
