Nike Dunk High GS - "Ripples" White/Obsidian-Marina Blue
I absolutely WUV the above-pictured GS Dunk High. This brightly painted sneaker is sure to bring a feeling of happiness to small footed femmes and young chul'ren all around. Multi-colored circles "ripple" along the side panels creating an awesome color illusion. Just looking at them brings a smile to my face! The warm colors of pink and volt yellow mixed with the coolness of the marina and obsidian blues make me think of summer - and these are guaranteed to be a hit! Although no official release date is known at this time, they are available for pre-order at online HK sneaker retailer Kix-Files.

SBeezies: July Nike SB Quickstrikes Available Now
Hiya folks! Two brand new SB quickstrikes have hit the shelves at most skateshops with SB accounts. The two kicks you see above are probably some of the iller product we've seen in a while, and I am loving both pairs. The SB Blazer features a mild white upper with a hot red swoosh and gum midsole. The upper heel tabs say the words "Swoosh Life" across both shoes. The SB dunk low comes in a varsity blue and ice pink colorway with an additional set of ice pink laces :).
Both pairs are available here in Chicago at Uprise - but be sure to check your local spots in the coming days as well.

Kicks: Nike WMS Vandal High - Heather Grey/Black - White

For all the Vandal fiends out there, this one is totally for you. Coming in on a nearly collegiate vibe (IMO), this Vandal model features a cool heather grey cloth upper - similar to that off sweatpants - and black trim. Interchangable signature straps in purple and red add just the right amount of color to these. I, am loving it.
Available now at Grip Footwear

What's New: Nike Women's Air Royalty Hi - Two Colorways

There's nothing better than coming across a brand new sneaker from the Swoosh - especially when it is executed properly and is made specifically for the ladies. The new Air Royalty model looks as if it is a giant mash - up of a few other classic Nike models - including the dunk, blazer, and terminator. Of course, this is pure assumption on my part so don't go around willy nilly saying these are facts. Just an observation! Anyhoo, as you can see these two models are uber slick and the colorways are unbeatable - black/white - sport red & white and metallic gold. Me Likey. So far, I've only seen these available for purchase on the Caliroots site, which leads me to believe they may not hit the states officially for a few more months - bummer. If you can't wait tho, the link below takes you directly to the caliroots site :). Enjoy!

And They Say Chi-City: St. Alfred Presents - Gatorade x Michael Jordan "23 Then. Now. Forever"
The phrase "oh hell yes" comes to mind when I think of two of my most favorite things in life - Jordan sneakers and Gatorade (oh yeah, ya girl gets busy with the "blue" and "red" joints - no actual names necessary). Its only right that after years of support the Gatorade brand sets up an ill contest with the help of the St. Alfred fam to select 100 lucky people to view a super low - key commercial shoot for Gatorade here in the Chi. Annnnd there's more! It all takes place Tomorrow, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th at St. Alfreds. But enough of my babbling - check out the poster below for ALL the amazing details.

Keep Stompin': Nike WMS Air Force 1 High -White/Polka Dot
Be it low, mid, or high, the Air Force 1 model was more than instrumental in getting me engulfed in the sneaker game. It is no surprise that I am in totally love with the above pictured women's AF1 high. What a subtle but snazzy design pattern - soft white upper with polka dots surrounding the entire upper AND midsole. I totally dig. Tuesday, July 07, 2009

And They Say Chi-City: Nike SB Blue Lobster Recap

So yesterday, hundreds of sneakerheads around the country waited anxiously to get their hands on a pair of the now coveted "blue lobster" Nike SB dunk lows. I must say, my own experience was quite an adventure. I left my job at 11:30 to head over to Uprise, I was hoping that i'd make it there by noon [the store's opening time] but I figured I probably should have left earlier. Anyhoo, as I'm walking down the block toward the shop, I see a crowd - my initial reaction - awww shit - but I was already there so I said whatev. Saw a guy walking down toward me with bag in hand [dressed in full hipster garb] so I asks him "say, are they only letting in one person at a time?," he says "nah, five at a time." I'm thinking sweet, get up to the store, line isn't as bad as I thought it was. Saw a couple folks I knew - shouts out to BLD and Melo from Kuts N Kicks - and hoped my behind in the back. We're moving and moving, i'm seeing a few females in line, so I'm thinking "damn, I hope they don't buy out my size" (which happens to be a 5); but from the looks of their feet, I had nothing to worry about, there were some guys in line who looked like they wore a 4.5 SMH! So finally i'm near the front, and one of the store employees comes out and he's like "there's nothing bigger than an 8 left." Of course, this discourages a lot of other folk in line, but not I, I'm sitting there thinking "as long as there is a 5 or 5.5 i'm straight." So decided to ask what was the smallest size, and in return I get the dreadful answer of "size 6" - WHAT THE DEUCE!!! So at this point i'm feeling hella anxiety, nearly upset, but get over and figure hey if I can't fit the 6, i'll just "find" someone who can and have a small monetary exchange with them. Fast forward to me copping them in the size 6, making it back to work and not TOO late lol, and finally getting a chance to try them on. What da ya know? THEY FIT! I mean, fit Perfectly! SB dunk lows typically fit snug, what with the insole and thick ass tongue, so i was EXTREMELY happy to know that I could keep my beloved blue lobsters and the rest of the day went blistfully well after that.
So what were you're experiences with the Blue Lobster SB Dunk release? Successes or Failures? Let me know!

SBeezies: Nike SB July 2009 Releases
I must admit, the year of the blue box has been a mediocre thus far. Out of a number of releases to date, there has only been a small handful that were noteworthy - including a few blazers, supreme themed p-rod 2, return of the bruin and eh to the dunks. It seems as if the Nike SB brand is intentionally recycling colorways (black/white and neon themed cws continue to run amuck). Unfortunately, July seems to be no different, with the only notable joint IMO being the "Dr. Feelgood" inspired SB Blazers (which the exception of the Nike SB Blue Lobster dunks to release June 30th as a GR). Anyhoo, check out the pics below and tell me what you think of this month's package.Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Summer Packism: Nike WMS Independence Day Pack - Air Max 95 and Vandal Low
Can you believe it's almost that time of year again? The Fourth of July is always bittersweet for me, it's a great time to celebrate and enjoy family and friends around some tasty bbq, but its also a marker of how fast the summer is going by =/. Somehow sneakers seem to help me get over the latter lol. This year, Nike Sportswear has cooked up a crazy new pack for Independence Day, even topping last year's pack! An Air Max 95 and Vandal Low get the star treatment, literally - with metallic silver star bursts seen on a red, white and blue upper of course. LOVE IT! Me thinks both are a necessity for the long holiday weekend! Expect to see these in stores on July 1st!

Summer Packism: Nike WMS Clash Pack - Aeroflight High, Blazer Mid, & Court Force High

I'm certainly happy to see that the Swoosh has dedicated a majority of its design ideas to creating fresh packs for women. Today, Sole Collector dropped some photos of the newest clash pack to hit the scene not too long after the first clash pack. This time around we have three different models - a Blazer Hi, Court Force Hi, and Aeroflight High LE which I featured on SneakHerBox yesterday. The theme here is bright colors - Glass Blue and Voltage (yellow) - and a wide range of materials and patterns not commonly considered to mesh well, like seude, metallic polka dots, terry cloth, and flower prints. To hit the scene officially next Wednesday, July 1st, check your local Nike retailers.

YSK: Nike WMS Air Force 1 Low - Radiant Emerald/Swan - Vaporize
A new twist on reptilian has been taken on this women's Nike Air Force 1 model. As you can see, a silver polished leather with a "lizard like" pattern takes hold of the entire upper, while off white laces and swoosh add a mellow touch to a very busy sneaker. These have just touched down over at Citysole and are available in full size run, head over if you're interested.Monday, June 22, 2009
Kicks: Nike WMS Aeroflight High LE

Here we take a looksie at the Aeroflight High model from the Swoosh. Not sure where to start with this one. Um, I see a rubberized sole, teal suede upper, white textured toe box and side panels, giant pale yellow swoosh, and silver polka dot strap all add "WTF" elements to a sneaker I'm not totally sold on. But hey i'm sure there are some lovely ladies out there who can work this look. If you're one of them, Finishline.com has a full women's size run :)

Kicks: Nike Air Max 90 GS - White/Pink-Blue Sparkle

Check Check Check it Ouuuuuuuut. Right above you'll see a brand new AM90 to release for the kids and small footed ladies. Sparkly patent accents can be seen in aqua and royal blues while pink laces and a yellow swoosh complete this summer look. Retailing at 75 bucks, they surely fit into any budget. Check for these now at Finishline.

Kicks: Reebok Freestyle Nostalgia Pack - 3 New Colorways
Because the 80s were such a wavvvvy time, its only right that we continue to pay homage to such a pivotal sneaker for women during that era. Reebok has put some stank (in a good way) on an old favorite which has resurged into the modern day sneaker culture. The Freestyle High Nostalgia pack will feature three pastel colorways - pink, yellow, and purple - all with a suede upper and clear gel toe and heel caps. Neat-o! Look for these to drop very soon at Reebok retailers - I'll be sure to keep ya posted on exactly where when that info comes!Tuesday, June 16, 2009
Really??? Married to the Mob New Logo 2009
With the broadening of the brand comes a slightly new look. Ms. Leah over at MTTM has decided to change up the "puckered lip" logo we are oh so familiar with seeing - giving it a more sleek and sexy look. To celebrate, a couple new tees featuring the sassy spout will be dropping soon. I guess this means that the old logo tees will be collectors items soon, i'm sure they'll selling for an arm and a leg on ebay in a week. Anyhoo, I give the new look the BD stamp of approval, how do you feel about the change?
