Well Rock out witcha bad selfs! You may recall last year the Swoosh dropped a similar Rock N Rock pack in black featuring a Vandal High and Terminator High. When I first saw these a couple weeks ago, i was like WOWEE how retro do these guys look? Well thats because the folks over at Converse hooked up with the Jams brand to create the original look of the sneakers from yesteryear. And whats really unique about these is that each pair is different do to the gynormo fabric its cut from. HOW SUPER SICK IS THAT?!? Coming in both the Skidgrip model and a Chuck Low All-Star, they both ring bells of colorful hot summer days, I am definitely digging!

Quickies: Nike WMNs Greco Mid - Black Snakeskin & Blue Ostrich Leather

Soooo jumping out of the depths of the Nike sneaker oceans are two quickstrike colorways for the Nike women's model entilted the "Greco." Both are stunning in their own right with premium exotic materials which really embody the sleekness of the sneaker. The black Greco features a shiny black snakeskin print on the upper with gold accents while the other Greco totes a cool blue upper made out of ostrich leather and suede. FIERCE and out NOW!!!

And They Say Chi-City: Nike Black History Month Event & Silent Auction

On Saturday, I had the privilege of attending a private Black History Month celebration at the Nike offices here in Chicago. MC'd by WGCI radio personality and funny man Leon Rogers, the event centered around the release of this year's Nike Black History Month Air Force 1 which was auctioned off to the attendees with a portion of the proceeds going to the Young Chicago Authors non-profit organization. A spoken word competition also took place with some of our city's top youth Slam Poets, including students from Manley High School and Kenwood Academy. Topics to be included in the students poetry ranged from the impact of black citizenship in the Americas to Barack Obama's presidency. Judging the competition were noted poets and writers including Executive Director of the YCA CC Carter and "The WordSmith" Chicago's own Malik Yusef. I was so moved by how impassioned and enthused each and every group of student poets were, and how brillantly they worked together to create such profound pieces of work. First place winners, Kubba Linx, received a monetary donation from Nike to the Young Chicago Authors on their behalf as well as the coveted Nike BHM AF1. At the end of the night, the winners of the silent auction were also announced and boy oh boy did those folks walk away with a one-of-a-kind sneaker. The night culminated with a dance off (whoot whoot!!!) to some good tunes and yummy cupcakes (and no, I do not have a picture of the yummy cupcake =/). It was an awesome time all around and I definitely appreciate Nike for putting together an amazing event and a night I'm sure the students as well as the guests will always remember.

Could it Be (GS)???: - Air Jordan III True Blue - August 2009

In this new series - Could it be (gs) - I'll be highlighting some new and upcoming sneaker releases that are currently in size limbo. My hope is to bring light to the situation and perhaps awaken the change in some of the leading sneaker companies.

No better way than to start off here: It's official, the JB will be retro-ing the iconic Jordan III (3) model in the True Blue colorway. Jordan heads all over the world are cheering (well, some OG collectors are frownin', but ya'll will be aight) for what is surely going to be a highly anticipated Fall 09 release. But that leaves the female sneaker heads wondering, will JB show US some love and re-retro this colorway in GS sizes??? For now, we can only hope, but I for one am surely praying we catch a break on this one and whatever other hot Jordan releases that drop this year. We missed out on the original DMPs a couple years ago as well as the few dope premium Jordan 1s which released last year. OUR MONEY IS JUST AS GREEN (and in some cases, even longer) AS OUR MALE COUNTERPARTS - SO DROP EM GS! You feelin' me ladies?

Collabos: Nike x Nylon Magazine Dunk High - Neon Nylons

Sooo a few pics have leaked on the web and little information is truly known about the rather bright Nike Dunk pictured above. For now, what we do know is that the finished product is a collaboration between the Swoosh and the fashion centered Nylon Magazine brand. Also, a full spread on these kicks should be available in Nylon Mag's April issue. I'm eager to see what more shots will look like, and perhaps if they'll be even more colorways. Collabos: Kime Buzzelli x Vans WMNS Wellesly - Summer 2009

Yoski! Sneakerheads all around the world can appreciate a great collabo - done right of course! Well today we bring you an awesome look for the ladies, created by LA based artist Kime Buzzelli. Ms Buzzelli lives and works above her art boutique Show Pony in Echo Pack, California. She is known for her vivid coloring techniques and true to life portraits. There was no better way to show off her sweet designs than to team up with sneaker powerhouse Vans to create this women's Wellesly. Dropping in two colorways - teal and black - both will feature a CMYK (color code for cyan, magenta, yellow and key *black*) based design. Surely these will turn heads! SFS: Supra Skytop - Silver/Purple

From the Supra skateboarding camp, here we have a looksie at the newest colorway to drop on the popular Skytop model. A dusted metallic silver leather upper provides the backdrop to accents of purple patent leather along the heel, which is definitely the showstopper here. As frequently seen on the Skytops of late, the perforated side panels offset the smoothness of the leather encased on the toe box and heel panels. A white sole with purple stripes complete the look - and there you have it folks! As always, the cats over at Supra hold the little footers down with sizes as lows as 4 in boys. Sneak of the Week: Nike WMNS Terminator High - Hyper Verde

Ahhh shucks, is that what i think it is? Yes, a brand new super bright Nike WOMENS Terminator High has just hit the scene. Sporting a undeniably neon green upper, these are sure to catch mad looks as you walk by. It's nice to see the Swoosh is really starting to dig deep into their creative processes and bring out fresh, uncharacterized sneakers for the ladies. We like sneakers in all colors, not just pink and baby blue ya know. So this is a step (no pun intended, well maybe) in the right direction. Sowwy no official release date info yet, but I'll keep you posted!

Kicks: Alife Everybody Mid & Chaser - Spring 2009

Yoski! Spring is right around the corner in more ways than one here in Chicago (we had 50 degree weather over the weekend ya'll whoot whoot and hallelujah!!!). No better way to bring in the season than with new kicks right? So today we're giving you a sneak peak at the new Spring 09 Alife Everybody Mid plus a new model called the Chaser. The Everybody Mid will come in three fresh colorways - orange, purple, and green, with a bright white "Alife" logo emblazened on the upper. The Chaser will be available in two colors - green and purple. While I think all three of the Everybody Mids are definite cops, the Chasers are a pass for me. IDK, what do you think?

Really??? Nike x Married to the Mob Dunk High Sample

So I know you remember the Nike x MTTM official dunk high premium which released back in November, I'm still sore about not getting a pair =/. Here we bring you a look at what might have been, as an image has just hit the net featuring a sample Married to the Mob Nike Dunk toting a very familiar pattern. Despite the obvious attempt to incorporate a high - end design to these, I am not impressed AT ALL and am so happy this idea was scrapped. But if you are digging this look, there are possibly 2 to 6 pairs out there, one of which has been scooped up by Mental Kicks.
